The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.
When you consider that these beautiful words were written by Helen Keller, who lost her sight and hearing at the age of two from meningitis in late nineteenth century America and grew up in a sensory world that few of us could possibly imagine, you can truly appreciate their meaning.
The happiness we feel when we have met our soulmate and made a deep, spiritual commitment to them is something that can’t be seen or touched—it can only be felt in the heart.
Your wedding provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate the commitment you are making to your partner. It doesn't matter whether the ceremony is to be short, long or anywhere in between, or held on a beach, in a plane or on a mountaintop - it deserves to be beautiful and it should be custom-created especially for you, incorporating elements or themes that are deeply personal and may be unusual but are very much 'from the heart'.
In developing your wedding ceremony, I create it according to your needs, requirements and expectations, which are determined through discussions with you.
Sometimes this involves painstaking research on my part, as happened with the pirate-themed wedding outlined on the 'Getting Married' page. Much research about pirate law and practices was undertaken before I developed that ceremony. On another occasion, I researched scientific, mythological and spiritual ideas about orchids for clients whose wedding was to be themed around this beautiful plant and its significance to the couple.
You might like your wedding to feature beautiful rituals like hand-fasting ceremonies, sand ceremonies, bouquet-creation ceremonies, or you may want to include readings, homilies and special blessings involving the wedding party or the guests. Any or all of this is possible. But if you want something that is very simple and without fuss, that is also possible.
Your wedding ceremony is the true highlight of your wedding day, and is the reason why your family and friends are gathering with you to celebrate. It's a wonderful opportunity for couples to give some time and consideration to how they would like it to be, and the things they may wish to include in it.
Whilst I’m responsible for creating and stage-managing the ceremony, your input is sought and welcomed. Indeed, you may choose to write parts of the ceremony yourself, such as vows, or provide me with copies of things you would like read at the wedding. Alternatively, you can leave all this to me, as I have an extensive digital resource library to draw from for readings in ceremonies, and access to extensive online resources.
Remember—what takes place at the wedding is up to you. It's my job to make it happen, and make it beautiful.
